United Realities presents Odyssey (7 Oct 2015)At Somerset House, commercial designer Tino Schaedler presented Odyssey. The two-minute “trip” involved strapping on an ocular rift headset, straddling a giant turbine and virtually blasting into space. It was meant as a teaser for our future lives – Schaedler says work, entertainment, shopping, even driving will require a headset that will “dematerialize life and take us inside digital spaces.” Yet, he adds, “everyone’s experience will be different – you’ll do your own ‘director’s cut.’”
