Bamboo has a higher compressive strength than wood, brick or concrete and a tensile strength that rivals steel.  A protective coating made up of borax and boric is used to resist Bamboo's material propensity to insects and rot, leading the way for projects such as the Green School in Bali, Indonesia, constructed entirely of bamboo, for its beauty and advantages as a sustainable resource. We feel Bamboo is an ideal material for eco tourism projects where bridges and canopy walks can be built for people to float through the natural areas without walking on the understorey.
